What it is

SCS.2 — Legends of the City — is the second Sydney Challenge Scramble, a points race around Sydney run by UNSW societies. Teams have the day to do as many quests as they can. Most are a photo or a video in the right place. Some are a puzzle, and some are a challenge a society has set.

You get around by public transport. Most teams cross the city several times in a day by train, metro, bus and light rail, and one quest wants all five modes before the finish, ferry included.

Points go onto the live tab as proof is accepted. The tab freezes at 14:30, so the standings stop before the race does and nobody knows the result until the ceremony. The team with the most points that is back at UNSW at the end of the day wins, and prizes and SCS merch go to the top teams.

Teams are three to five people, and at least half of each team must be UNSW students.

The quests

There are 94 quests on the list, in three main types.

MMain quests

Four hubs: Parramatta, Chatswood, UNSW Paddington and UNSW Kensington. Arrive at the hubs and complete a series of challenges before moving on. Points award for completing all four.

SSide quests

Scattered all over Sydney, from a photo on Bland Street to a swim in your clothes. Various points awarded depending on skill, luck, or pure braveness.

BBonus quests

Dropped randomly throughout day with no warning. Some might require you to do some game theory...
